Prophet Stories for Children: Lessons, and Duas 🌟

  • Teaching children about the Prophets is a great way to instill Islamic values and morals. Here are inspiring stories from the lives of the Prophets, along with lessons, Quranic duas, and Hadiths, to make them meaningful and relatable for kids. 🌿


1. The Patience of Prophet Ayyub (AS) 🕊️

  • Prophet Ayyub (AS) endured immense trials, losing his wealth, family, and health. Yet, he remained patient and steadfast in his faith. He made the following dua during his hardship:


Dua:

۞ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

(الأنبياء: 83)

Translation:


“I have been touched with adversity,1 and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”


  • Lesson for Kids: Be patient and trust Allah in tough times.


  • 💡 Activity Idea: Write down five things you are thankful for in a "Gratitude Journal."


2. The Bravery of Prophet Musa (AS) 🚶‍♂️🌊


  • Prophet Musa (AS) led his people to safety, trusting Allah completely when trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea. Allah split the sea to make a path for them.


Dua:

رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ

(الشعراء: 63)

Translation:


“My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.”


  • 💡 Activity Idea: Use paper or craft sticks to recreate the parting of the sea as a fun craft.



3. The Kindness of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) 🤝❤️


  • The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) showed exceptional kindness, even to those who were unkind to him. When an old woman who regularly threw garbage on him fell ill, he visited her. This act of compassion inspired her to embrace Islam.


Dua:

لا إلهَ إلا اللهُ العَليمُ الحَليم لا إلهَ إلا اللهُ ربُّ العَرْشِ العَظِيْم لا إلهَ إلا اللهُ ربُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الأَرْضِ ربُّ العَرْشِ الكَرِيْم


(الأنبياء: 107)

Translation:


“There is no deity but Allah, the Knowing, the Clement. There is no deity but Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no deity but Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth and Lord of the Noble Throne.” – (Bukhari)


  • Lesson for Kids: Show kindness and compassion, even to those who may not treat you well.

4. The Wisdom of Prophet Sulaiman (AS) 🦜👑


  • Prophet Sulaiman (AS) was blessed with the ability to communicate with animals. When he heard an ant warning its colony about his approaching army, he smiled and thanked Allah.


Dua:

رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَهَبْ لِى مُلْكًۭا لَّا يَنۢبَغِى لِأَحَدٍۢ مِّنۢ بَعْدِىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ



Translation: 


“My Lord! Forgive me, and grant me an authority that will never be matched by anyone after me. You are indeed the Giver ˹of all bounties˺.”


  • Lesson for Kids: Respect all living creatures and always thank Allah for His blessings.


  • 💡 Activity Idea: Go outside and observe small creatures like ants. Imagine how they might communicate!


5. The Honesty of Prophet Yusuf (AS) 🌟🤲


  • Prophet Yusuf (AS) faced challenges with honesty and trust in Allah. Despite being thrown into a well by his brothers and later imprisoned, he remained truthful and patient.


Dua:

أَنْتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ

(يوسف: 6)

Translation:


“You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.”


  • Lesson for Kids: Always tell the truth and trust Allah’s plan.

6 Prophet Yunus (AS) 🌟


  • Prophet Yunus (AS) is one of the great prophets mentioned in the Quran. He was sent to the people of Nineveh, who were engaging in sinful acts. Yunus (AS) warned them to repent and turn to Allah, but they ignored his message. Frustrated, he left the city and boarded a ship. However, the ship was caught in a violent storm, and the crew decided to throw him overboard.


He made the famous Dua:"

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ"


"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

(Quran 21:87)


7 Prophet Ibrahim (AS)🌟


  • Prophet Ibrahim (AS) is one of the most revered prophets in Islam. He is known for his unwavering faith in Allah and his dedication to spreading the message of monotheism. Ibrahim (AS) is called the Khalilullah (the close friend of Allah) because of his strong relationship with Allah.


Dua from Prophet Ibrahim (AS):


حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ


“Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.”
